In September 2006 NORD were approached to investigate the potential for existing communal landlord and tenant areas at Clifton House with a view to potential development. The existing 1960’s office building sits within the Park Conservation area of Glasgow’s City Center.
NORD’s approach has been one of consolidation where the potential of existing spaces has been explored before offering up any new additions to the building.
The key strategy for the building is the creation of a new external glazed ‘block’ that ties into the buildings existing access and circulation strategy. This also provides the most efficient means of controlling access to all office suites with minimal disruption during the proposed works while creating new opportunities for linkages such as a new single storey extension at roof level.
